‘Grand’ Piano (5)

Grand Piano – $4500
20+ year old grand piano made by Young Chang. I’m moving and need to sell. Will not reduce price anymore. Call me: ***-***-****.

Negotiation Strategy:
No strategy here, this guy is just a ‘grand’ dummy. His friend sounds very nice though.

Hi!
I am looking to learn how to play the piano and want to buy a premium instrument. It is a bold claim to say that this is somehow “Grand.” Why is it grand and why is it so expensive?!

This is called a grand piano because that is what it is: There are six sizes of pianos: spinet, console, upright, baby grand, grand and concert grand. It is not expensive for a grand, in fact it is a steal at this price for this piano, I have been lowering the price to the point that I won’t lower it any more, when the time comes to move I will donate it to a church. This is a full grand piano, very few people have one of these.

Jerry,
Ok I get it. It’s sort of like different versions of an ipod? Would this one be like the touch, the classic, or the nano. Right now, I’m kind of picturing a first generation 8 gigabyte. Does that sound about right?

No it’s not the same, there has been no teck advances in pianos. A brand new one would be no different then the one I have, they are made the same, the only difference comes from size and quailty of the manufacturer.

Jerry,
What about keyboards? Aren’t those like the next wave of pianos? Seems to me that is a big tech advance.
So if I understand you correctly the only difference is the size and quality. Obviously I want the biggest and the best. But, how do I know they won’t come out with a mega piano (you know, bigger than the grand) which would render my piano inferior?
Does the piano come with any grand accessories? (i.e. grand headphones, grand piano gloves, grand music sheets, etc.) I don’t mind if they are used. I just figure one should go big or go home.
Also, your ad says it is made by Young Chang…is this an Asian friend of yours? If so, I would like to meet him when I pick up the piano. Thanks Jerry!
